Guardian window screens are designed to meet the requirements specified in the National Construction Code for fall prevention. Tested to exceed an outward force of 250NM (25kg), they’re perfect for second-storey window applications — especially where young children are in the home.
The aluminium frame and 304 architectural stainless steel mesh are joined in a mechanical and chemical bond. Virtually unbreakable, with full insulation between the two metals to eliminate the corrosion you’d normally get from dissimilar metal contact.
Once you install Guardian, you can remove your window restrictors — the NCC code considers the screen itself compliant, so you get full airflow and full safety.

Black powder-coated 304 architectural stainless steel — 1.3 mm aperture, 44.8% open area, ultra high-tensile .6 mm wire. Passes the NCC fall-prevention requirement.

Tested to perform — and to keep upstairs safe.
Guardian has passed the testing requirements of the National Construction Code for fall prevention, plus a range of other performance tests — corrosion, bushfire, insect protection. If the NCC requires it, Guardian covers it.

Fall prevention (NCC / BCA 2013)
NCC (BCA 2013) requires certain window openings to be screened to prevent child falls. Guardian resists an outward horizontal action of 250 N (25 kg) — window restrictors can be removed once Guardian is installed.
Test 02
Bushfire
Bushfire-prone zones need corrosion-resistant mesh with openings under 2×2 mm (AS 3959-2009). Guardian’s 304 stainless mesh meets the requirement.
Test 03
Corrosion
AS 2331.3.1 (neutral) and AS 2331.3.2 (acetic acid) salt-spray tests. Guardian’s stainless steel + aluminium bond passes both — no dissimilar metal corrosion, long life in coastal homes.
Test 04
Insect protection
The mosquito protection test measures ability to keep mosquitoes out over extended periods. Guardian’s tight weave comfortably passes.

Corey was brilliant!! I recently had three security screen doors fitted to my new home. I chose the Prowler Proof doors with Forcefield mesh and they DO look great (the advertising was true - the welded corners look much better than jointed riveted frames). While slightly more expensive than other quotes it really seemed worth it for that difference. As a bonus, Corey was genuinely a pleasure to deal with... Knowledgeable, always friendly and helpful, as well as super fast and efficient when installing the new doors. Besides looking great, the doors also fit perfectly (closers included). I really appreciated his updates on the progress of my order, and the fast turnaround time on manufacturing. I will definitely be ordering more doors in future from Corey (I have two doors on an outbuilding that also need screens). Highly recommended.
